Survival Is Suicide

Survival Is Suicide nace como banda en 2007 con la la idea de aplicar al Death Metal una vertiente más experimental y abstracta, en ese año Zaratozom y Epojé empiezan los primeros ensayos para dar comienzo a tal proyecto utilizando un bajo y una bateria.

Para dar profundidad y personalidad al sonido de la banda Survival Is Suicide deciden reinterpretar la función del bajo (ya que será el sonido principal del grupo) así pues añaden efectos de sintetizador y distorsión a este.

Tras año y medio de composición y ensayos logran perfilar un repertorio para empezar a dar sus primeros conciertos de los cuáles cabe destacar la actuación de Phonofestival y la primera edición del Metal Nights Festival.

2010 será el año en que Survival Is Suicide empezarán la grabación de lo que será su primer trabajo en estudio “...Just Like Spiders Eat Flies”.

Para dicho trabajo acudirán a Moontower Studios y Underground Lab Bcn, en este último contarán con la colaboración de Isaac González como teclista.

“...Just Like Spiders Eat Flies” sale a la venta el 11 de Febrero de 2011.

En la actualidad Survival Is Suicide se encuentra en periodo de promoción de su primer trabajo en cuanto a difusión y actuaciones en directo se refiere.

Survival is Suicide was born in 2007 with the idea of creating a more experimental and abstract Death Metal. In the same year, Zaratozom and Epojé started their first rehearsals to define the project using just a bass and drums.

To add some depth and personality to the sound of the band, Survival Is Suicide decided to reinterpret the bass, adding synthesizing and distortion effects.

After a year and a half of rehearsals and song writing they finally gathered together a good repertory and started doing their first live acts, of which we have to remark the ones at “Phonophestival” and the first edition of the “Metal Nights Festival”.

2010 will be the year when Survival Is Suicide will start to record their first studio work, “…Just Like Spiders Eat Flies”.

They will record at Moontower Studios and Underground Lab BCN, where they will count with the collaboration of Isaac Gonzalez at the keyboard.

“…Just Like Spiders Eat flies” was released 11th of February, 2011.

Survival Is Suicide is currently promoting their first studio work.

“...Just like Spiders Eat Flies” es un trabajo conceptual que indaga en las miserias del ser humano tales como su evolución como error, el abandono del instinto animal, la percepción del mundo y de la realidad interpretándola como verdad absoluta, la imposibilidad del conocimiento, el fracaso de la filosofia...

Un sinfín de temas que aborda la actualidad del ser humano y en como ha convertido el mundo en el que se encuentra, dándole prioridad a su raciocinio y ambición y por tanto esclavizando su propio ser.

“...Just Like Spiders Eat Flies” aborda también la lucha por los polos opuestos, lo contrario, lo extremo, pues el disco consta de dos partes, por un lado la velocidad y la crudeza y por otro la experimentación musical para llegar con la música a lo que no puede llegar la mente.

En definitiva es un trabajo que, como su título indica, la araña prepara su trampa para que todos caigamos en ella y posteriormente nos exprima la sangre.

“…Just like Spiders Eat Flies” is a conceptual work that explores the miseries of the human race such as its evolution as a mistake, the relinquishment of the animal instinct, the perception of the world and reality as an absolute truth, the impossibility of knowledge, the failure of philosophy…

An endless trade of topics that deals with the actual state of the human race and how it has developed the world in which he lives in, giving priority to the rational mind and ambition, enslaving its own soul.

“…Just Like Spiders Eat Flies” also deals with the fight between the two parts, the contrary, the extreme. This is easily observable in the two parts of the CD: the one is fast and crude while the other one is experimental, trying to reach with music what can’t be reached with the mind.

It’s a work that, as its title indicates, will catch us in its web and squeeze our blood.

Hi, thanks for the post. The first track on your myspace is ok but the second is not Traditionnal Metal. Here we really not like "Experimental" music.
